These 100g braids are dyed by Liz Miller of Good Fibrations in Saint John, NB. Liz sources top quality fibre and skilfully hand-dyes them in a gorgeous and ever-evolving array of colourways, from subtle tonal semi-solid to lively and vibrant speckled and variegated.
BFL: 100% Bluefaced Leicester Wool - A fine, soft and springy English longwool. A favourite of spinners, it is also a great choice for wet or dry felting and thrums.
TBS: 80% Targhee wool, 10% Bamboo, 10% silk - A blend of fine, soft Targhee wool and lustrous silk, shot through with shiny squiggles of white bamboo rayon, this is a lively and luxurious base which is fun to spin, and felts well too.
EcoSWM: 100% Eco-process superwash merino - This merino is superwash-treated using an environmentally low-impact process. Its loft and slight slippiness make it very easy to spin, even with relatively little twist. It will also work for needle felting, but not for wet felting, due to the superwash treatment.
BFLTS: 80% Bluefaced Leicester, 20% Tussah silk - A dreamy blend of Bluefaced Leicester and Tussah silk, with visible crimp and amazing lustre. Suitable for spinning, wet and dry felting.
POL: 100% Polwarth - Less widely known than BFL and Merino, Polwarth is an Antipodean heritage breed, originally a Merino-Lincoln cross. It is springy, lofty, fine and soft. Suitable for spinning, thrums, and wet or dry felting.
